A Ride To Hogwarts !

A Ride to Hogwarts!

Who is ready to learn where the most famous school of Witch craft and Wizardry came from? I know I do. Let’s hope you are made of magic. I am sure the 9¾ at Kings Cross station will accept you and embrace you with magic.

Hogwarts is a school of wondrous and endless possibilities. Hogwarts Castle was a large, seven-storey high building supported by magic, with a hundred and forty two staircases throughout its many towers and turrets and very deep dungeons. The castle was the main building of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, regarded as the finest wizarding school in the world.

Platform nine and three-quarters is the train platform from which students board the Hogwarts Express, the scarlet steam engine that brings students to and from Hogwarts. It can be accessed by walking straight through the apparently solid barrier between platforms nine and ten. Only if you have proved yourself as a witch or wizard, then you can pass through, otherwise, get ready for a big fat bruise next morning.

Hogwarts was founded by two wizards and two witches. Their names were Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff and Salazar Slytherin.

Godric Gryffindor is said to have praised courage, determination and strength of heart above all other qualities. Indeed, he selected students for his house based upon their daring and bravery, according to the Sorting Hat. He also was the most in favour of allowing Muggle-borns into the school.

Salazar Slytherin was a pure-blood wizard, noted for his cunning and determination. He was regarded as one of the greatest wizards of the age, respectively as a Parselmouth and as a skilled Legilimens.

Rowena Ravenclaw, 'from glen', was the most brilliant witch of her time, but her story is one of tragedy. Known for her wit and love of learning, she wore a diadem that was said to grant wisdom to the wearer. However, Rowena's own daughter grew jealous of her mother's incredible intelligence.

Helga Hufflepuff was a Welsh witch and was one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While the other founders chose to have special students, she accepted them all without preference, but the students of her house are described as loyal and hard-working.
